The definition of a writer springs from how a writer applies their skills. A writer, according to me, draws information from many different sources, processes the information, sorts it to develop a theme, and presents it in a way that helps the reader appreciate, enjoy, or learn about the subject.

Ever read something and find yourself more confused about the subject than before you read about it? This usually means the writing lacks something. I know everyone gets all uppity that writing and communication are subjective, but in reality, they’re not. Those of us who speak the same language should understand each other. Whether we agree with each other or not is a topic for another day.
